But I don’t wanna be “them”…
All of the recent stories from around the ‘net about vote fraud, finance fraud, spooky statements from Biden, violent attacks on property of persons who support McCain, all of the mounting evidence of Obama’s radical underpinnings, confirmation of desire for Fairness Doctrines from Congressmen, reworking of 401(k)s…
I hate, hate, hate the idea that I am becoming like the leftards I have made fun of for the last 8 years. I hate that I can’t just look at this shit and say, like D does, “eh, so unlikely to happen it’s not even worth breaking a sweat over.” I hate that it feels like I am becoming a conspiracy theorist. I hate having to examine my every reaction to see if I am being a drooling, partisan idiot so that I’m not like the KosKids or the HuffPo people. I guess if I am wondering if I’m not over-reacting, I’m already not them, hm?
But… and there is always a but, folks…if I ignore a growing mountain of evidence, not just circumstantial, but actual evidence, am I like them in that? They ignore evidence in favor of their chosen reality. Even if I am ignoring it so that I’m not an extremist, does that make me like them anyway?
I hate that the only reliable place to get any information nowadays seems to be the internet. And we all know how falliable that is. I’m not saying I want expert journalists to tell me what to think, I don’t. I already know they are nothing but shills for the constructed reality we are being sold. I know they won’t tell me the truth, or even both sides of a story. It would be enough if they’d adopt a “just the facts, ma’am” approach.
Maybe this is what happens when a paradigm shifts. We are moving from the old media way of news to the new media way of news. I do have to agree with D, skeptic extraordinaire that he is, that the new media is not helping anything. The news clearinghouse blogs are just as damaging to the truth as the MSM is. There are tons of sites out there purporting to be factually accurate, and some are and truly do strive for accuracy. But many, many more function only as infotainment, just like the old media. And when you want to be entertained, you go where you are comfortable so most of us end up in echo chambers.
