Cheney whups ass
Okay. So I never really paid too much attention to the man while he was VP. I knew his history and figured he probably had a pretty good hand in creating policy in the Bush administration. I figured he was just as corrupt as 95% of politicians of all parties, no better, no worse in that department. So I never got the hyperventilating from the left about him, though I found it entertaining. He was a VP – big deal.
Now that I actually paid attention to a speech of his, I get it. He is anathema to them. Like sunlight to blind cavefish – if they listened they might have to evolve.
He’s principled, committed and firm in his stances, whether the public likes them or not. I’ve said for a long time, the people I respect most are those who stand for what they believe in whether it is popular or not.
It’s great to see someone stand up to the Obama administration’s attacks on the fundamental rights of Americans, while at the same time they are in a great rush to give terrorists rights.
In just 100 days they have created selective taxation (AIG), have eliminated contract law (Chrysler, AIG) and nullified the trust that investors have relied on (bankruptcy law), decided it’s in their power to fire heads of companies, and looted the treasury for the benefit of their supporters (unions) and to jam a socialist agenda down America’s throat.
Obama decided he had go up against Dick… his speech reminded me of a 3-year old. Blame Bush was the message as usual, and his timing shows his immaturity and sensitivity to opinion.
More, including the full text of Cheney’s speech here.

Cheney really came out swinging with this one. He’s been calling for them to declassify the rest of that information for weeks and it really is intriguing for them to continually deny that. I’m sure Robin Hood up in the Oval Office will come out smelling like roses after all of this somehow (it’s one of the perks that comes with being a lefty I suppose), but it’s enough for me that he has been called out for blatantly spinning, and hiding, the truth and he is unwilling (or unable?) to prove this is not the case. I shall continue my hope that there is a candidate in the next election that is actually worth a damn. Is the One Armed Man available for 4-8 years?
Funny you mention that. We were watching The Wire last night (we are up to season 4) and I told him he should run for mayor just to see what would happen. How fast people would run screaming from so much non-PC, bluntly honest asshole-itude. :) He said he figured he’d get 7 votes and they’d all be from people who don’t know him. LOL
